The Tides

We’ve been calling the breeze

Winds of change

Throwing rain slanted

Across the windowpane

Watch the world shiver from afar

Lifting away umbrellas of passerby

We are one with change

Victims of the flow

As is every other thing

Out on the open waters

My life is a chunk of driftwood

The tides rise, the tides fall

I know how this goes

But I feel like you left me

When I thought you said

You would stay
