Deciphering Echoes

I’m sleepy

And it was just

The turn of winter

Which means

I’m closer to the gods than usual

They whisper things

That bring tears to my eyes

Of what emotion

I forget as I feel

The moon sits

Full in the sky

But the mist blocks it out

And I pick your face

Out of the crowd with ease

A moment later

I would have missed you

I must have been a sight to see

Lost in the people as you were

And the feelings and

The whispers carry on once

I’ve lead us away to quiet

Though the gods have gone to sleep

It is my whispers

Echoing the lyrics to songs

Words you said as I left

A sleepless mind will

Decipher it in due time

For now

We let them rest
