Tonight I was dreaming

Of strangers under candlelight

The crowd as they chatter

A breeze sweeps in

Rustling hair and 

Fringes of shirts

I thought “I love you” just then

Slow dancing around a corner

All the shuddering flames

Stars in some golden universe

Just outside our atmosphere

Music the ping of a satellite

Hello, are you out there?”

You’ve always felt

So out of reach

Except now
