To My Muse

Honestly

I didn’t think I would write

So much about love

I’ve never had a muse before

I think all the loves

Before this

Were

Less grounded

Not to set them aside

But this comes naturally

And stays

I don’t question it

Like the others

And it follows very different rules

I used to think love

Was about wanting touch

Some kind of physical trust

I will probably never understand

Love is closer to wanting coffee

Normal

Commonplace

Don’t need it but really like it

Just missing your presence

Quietly

In the back of my mind

It doesn’t make me sad

Just has me hoping

You turn up

And we go out of our way

For each other

Break all the rules

We don’t lie

We lose sleep

I don’t think too much around you

Want you to smile

Be content

That is all
