Until the Very Edge of Vision (is fabric)

Today I saw fabrics

Many colors, many shades

But I found myself among

The greys and the blacks

Matching my shirt

Intricate gold and silver patterns

Repeating endlessly on spools

And behind my eyes I saw

A room made of patchwork

Dizzying dark layers, infinite

And out the open window still

More, hills changing from charcoal to

Steel to

Ivory, until the very edge

Of vision ends

At the horizon

And then I turned away

And that world disappeared forever
