Just Lucky Enough

The ringing in my ears

I set it aside because there

Is no room for it

It is a herald of

Distraction

It has been so long since I

Have been so surrounded

It’s overwhelming

Would have gone into

Shock

If I had allowed it

Of myself

But I set it aside

Tilt my head to

Clear all the clutter

What was the story again?

I don’t say so but I am

A touch sad I can’t tell you more

The details are old ones and

Not easily retrieved through this

Mental static

But I set it aside

Everything has changed but

You

In our corner it feels like

The world has forgotten

Our existence a blip on

Someone elses satellites

If we were here forever I think

It would be such a good

Place to pause

Despite the haze

But I set it aside

I’ll get to it later

Now is a time to exist

Live and speak and muse and

Get just

Lucky enough

Tucked in our corner

Half-told stories and half-thought thoughts and

Half-felt feelings

Because feeling properly would just

Add

To the chaos
