A Wave Finally Breaking

It is today that

I find myself 

Driving steady into the night

To be content

On moment raging

Against everything in sight

The next I stand 

Still

And instead everything

Flows past me like 

A wave 

Finally breaking

And I say to the air

Give a little shrug

‘If you can’t beat em

Join em’

And all at once

I am swept away

But a single droplet on

The surf

Landing where I 

Am meant to be and

Nowhere else
