Where We First Met
I’d bet all the ink on my hands
From measuring lines and testing pens
I’ll get somewhere in life
One of these days
You look at my books
Tell me I’ll be famous and
You’re lucky to know me now
I think I am lucky to know you
Who would I be without
Your kindness and humor
A little more sad
A little more lonely
But we have promises of skating and
Singing and sunsets
Kettle on to boil
Coffee dust under my fingernails
I miss where we first met
The old ride-or-die crew is
Only a call away but it
Hasn’t been the same
And no matter what you think of yourself
Or what I think of me
I’m glad you’re around
