The Importance of Titles

I’ve given you a

Title now, a story

To tell

I suppose

Do with it what

You will

Dear Illusionist

I think I

Am also learning

How to be clear

I hope you know it is

Not actually bad that

You don’t say what you mean

Most people don’t

Most people never learn to

Dear Strategist

There is an important

Separation

Between simplicity

And stagnation

Don’t call yourself boring

And I’m sorry for

Saying so too

You have things you like

You don’t have to stray

Unless it is keeping you down

Dear Observer

You know all your

Other names already

You have spent much

Time finding them

You are spending much

More time now acting

Instead of watching

I know it feels less safe but

I think it is better

Dear Wordsmith

You have many titles too

Know only that I

Would follow you anywhere

And just as well leave

You to your own devices

Do not feel obligated

To stay

I will miss you if

You go but if it is for you

So be it

And who else is there?

The Alchemist

The Philosopher

The King

The Army

The Commissioner

The Trickster

So many names

So many people

So little time to

Say what I mean
